PE and Sport Premium
The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding provided to primary schools to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, physical activity and sport they provide.
At The Stonebridge School, we are committed to providing pupils with opportunities to be physically active, develop their skills and confidence, experience a broad range of sports and activities, and understand the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
We use the PE and Sport Premium to enhance our existing provision and support sustainable improvements in PE, physical activity and school sport.
Our Priorities
Through our PE and Sport Premium funding, we aim to:
- increase pupils’ participation in regular physical activity
- the profile of PE and sport across the school
- staff confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport
- pupils with a broader range of sports and physical activities
- increase participation in competitive sport
Swimming
Swimming and water safety form an important part of our PE provision. We aim to ensure that pupils develop the skills and confidence to swim competently and safely.
We publish the percentage of pupils in our Year 6 cohort who can:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes effectively
- perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
