Mission, Vision and Values

Our mission
The Stonebridge School exists:

To nurture every child and ensure excellence and equity for all.

Our mission brings together our commitment to the whole child with high expectations. We want every child to feel known, valued and supported, whilst ensuring all pupils have what they need to achieve excellence.

Our vision
The Stonebridge School hopes to become:

A thriving, ambitious community where every child feels they belong, is inspired to succeed and develops the confidence to thrive in an ever-changing wider world.

Our vision reflects our aspiration for children not only to succeed academically, but to develop the confidence, character and sense of belonging they need for their next steps and future lives.

Our values
How will we achieve our vision and fulfill our mission?

Our six values are taught across the year, with each chosen to reflect the journey our children experience through the school year.

  • Courage

    Autumn 1: Courage

Be brave. Have a go. Embrace new challenges.

The beginning of a new school year brings change, new relationships and new learning. We encourage children to have the courage to try, take positive risks and believe in themselves.

  • Kindness

    Autumn 2: Kindness

Care for others. Include everyone. Make a difference.

As our school community grows together, we deepen children’s understanding of empathy, compassion and belonging. Kindness brings the nurture in our mission to life.

  • Responsibility

    Spring 1: Responsibility

Own your choices. Take charge of your learning.

A new term brings a fresh start. Children learn to take increasing responsibility for their choices, behaviour, learning and contribution to their community.

  • Respect

    Spring 2: Respect

Value yourself. Value others. Value our community.

Children learn that respect means valuing themselves and others, appreciating difference and treating everyone with dignity and fairness, supporting our commitment to equity and belonging.

  • Ambition

    Summer 1: Ambition

Aim high. Work hard. Be your best.

At a key point in the academic year, we reinforce high expectations and the belief that every child can achieve. Ambition reflects the excellence at the heart of our mission.

  • Resilience

    Summer 2: Resilience

Keep going. Learn from challenges. Finish strong.

As children reach the end of the year and prepare for transition, resilience reminds them to persevere, learn from setbacks and approach their next steps positively.

Our journey through each academic year:

Courage → Kindness → Responsibility → Respect → Ambition → Resilience

We begin with the courage to start, build our community through kindness, take responsibility for ourselves and our learning, show respect for ourselves and others, develop the ambition to aim high, and finish with the resilience to keep going.

Together, our mission, vision and values express what we want for every child: to be nurtured, to belong, to achieve excellence and to develop the character and confidence to thrive beyond our school.
